ANGELA PERDUE
Angela earned a Bachelor's Degree from Wake Forest University in 1994. Prior to working at the Preschool, Angela was a stay-at-home mom and volunteer with HisCare Ministries for more than 10 years. In addition, she has worked in retail management and as an office manager. Angela and her husband, Rodney, have 3 wonderful daughters, a dog, and 2 cats. They have attended Hillsdale UMC since the early days at the gym. In her spare time, Angela enjoys reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family.
MICHELE SHAVER
LEAD TEACHER of our FANTASTIC FOURS
Prior to joining the preschool, Michele worked 15 plus years as a Program Director for the YMCA which included supervision of Summer Day Camps, Before and After School Childcare programs, and all of the Health and Wellness Programs. She also taught the Preschool Gymnastics Program and Homeschool PE classes. Michele is currently working for Davie County Schools where she has subbed for seven-plus years. She has three daughters and in her spare time enjoys traveling with them to their cheer competitions near and far.
NANCY ROBERSON
ASSISTANT TEACHER of our FANTASTIC FOURS
Nancy is excited to be joining the Hillsdale Preschool. She is from Danville, Virginia and moved here with her husband and daughter. She is the mother of 1 and loves children. Aside from working at the preschool, she also works with individuals who have mental and physical disabilities doing in-home care. She has been doing direct support care since 2009. Nancy feels blessed that God has allowed her this opportunity and looks forward to working with the children.
AMANDA LUKAS
LEAD TEACHER of our ENTHUSIASTIC THREES
Amanda earned her Certificate in Preschool education from Liberty University. Prior to coming to the preschool, she was a stay-at-home mom for 3 years and worked in the medical field for 16 years. Amanda and her husband, Roger, have four wonderful children, a mini farm with chickens and rabbits, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. In her spare time, she loves watching her two older daughters play volleyball. Amanda loves working with children and feels God led her to teach little ones.
ALEX MARTIN
ASSISTANT TEACHER of our ENTHUSIASTIC THREES
Alex is so excited to be joining the preschool team at Hillsdale! She was born and raised in Davie County and attended Hillsdale for church most of her life! She graduated from DCCC with her cosmetology license in 2013 and worked in the hair industry for 3 years prior to having kids! Since then, she has been a stay-at-home mom to 2 boys, ages 3 and 5, and also enjoys working her Scentsy business on the side! She loves to be creative and help the little ones learn as much as they can in the most fun ways! In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, and a good cup of coffee! She is so excited to begin this journey with Hillsdale Preschool!
SANDY HENDRIX
LEAD TEACHER of our TERRIFIC TWOS
Sandy retired in 2021 after teaching first and second grades at Pinebrook Elementary school for 29 years. She knew working with children was something she wanted to continue and was so excited for the opportunity to teach the two-year-old class. She has taught at the preschool for the last several summers with all age groups. She is also the new Hiz Kids Program Director for Hillsdale. Even though she retired from teaching school, she is so thankful to be able to continue touching young lives in these new roles and sharing the love of Jesus with them. She lives with her husband, David, and her Goldendoodle, Josie. She has two amazing sons. Matthew lives in Colorado and Jacob is a junior at UNC Charlotte. She loves spending time with her family and friends, playing with her dog, visiting the mountains and the beach, reading, and cooking.
BETH CONLEY
ASSISTANT TEACHER of our TERRIFIC TWOS
Beth was born and raised in Boone, NC. She attended Caldwell Community College and from there earned her CNA and Med Tech License. She began her work at an Alzheimer's unit in Boone for several years before getting married and moving to Kernersville. From there she continued her work at a facility in High Point, After having her first son 10 years ago she became a stay-at-home mom. She has 2 boys, 10 and 5. During that time she has babysat/nannied for several families. Beth and her family moved to Clemmons in 2017 and are members at Hillsdale. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, spending time with her family outside, and watching her boys play soccer.
WENDY WEVERLING
LEAD TEACHER of our WONDERFUL ONES
Wendy is very excited to join the team at the Hillsdale Preschool. She really enjoys working with children. Being creative in play, craft and physical activities with the small ones makes her smile! Wendy is from the Netherlands and moved to Clemmons with her husband and two children three years ago. Back in The Netherlands Wendy used to teach swimming to children and was working at a gym as a trainer. She did volunteer work in Zimbabwe in a rehabilitation centre for disabled children. In 2005 she graduated and worked as a Physical Therapist for 9 years. After her first child was born she chose to be a stay-at-home mom. Wendy loves spending time with her family, traveling, running and doing workouts.
RACHEL BAKKER
ASSISTANT TEACHER of our WONDERFUL ONES
Rachel is originally from Indian River, MI. She attended Ferris State University where she obtained her Unit Clerk Certification and met her husband TIck. After graduating, she moved to Louisiana where she worked as a medical receptionist and a front desk coordinator for 5 years. She relocated to North Carolina in late 2012 and has been a resident of the area ever since. She was a stay-at-home mom for 10 years until her two energetic boys were both in elementary school. During that time, Rachel also obtained a CNA Certification from Forsyth Tech in 2021. In her free time, Rachel enjoys triathlons, kayaking, and camping with her family. Rachel also volunteers her time helping with the Soup Ministry at Hillsdale UMC. She is excited to join the Hillsdale Preschool team and looks forward to working with God's children!
